Angie’s List just announced that Organized Spaces has won their Super Service Award again for 2011! This award is earned by contractors that receive an A grade from the Angie’s List members. They report on the service received from listed contractors and grade them A through F, just like in school. Angie’s List says only 5% of their contractors earn this reward. We haven’t heard how many receive it 3 years in a row, but we assume this might put our designers and installers in a class by themselves.

Just want to drop you a line to say thank you for a job well done at my clients home. She is very pleased with the work Organized Spaces did.

Your installation crew, Brice and Ken, were really top notch and very pleasant to work with.

I’m sure you heard that the building presented some interesting challenges and Brice and Ken worked through it all with the most positive of attitudes. They were very professional at all times and want you to know what a good impression they left on me. The whole process from design to installation was extremely smooth. The crew was really dialed in, from Andy calling ahead to let me know what time they’d be there, to the crew showing up on time to do the installation.

I will definitely suggest Organized Spaces to my clients and look forward to working with you and your fine crew in the future.

Time Saving Tips

The days are getting shorter, yet our schedules are fuller: work, family time, school, sports, a social life, and oh yes, keeping a tidy home. Does your daily routine need a reality check? We asked a few experienced parents to share their tricks for saving time, easing stress and making life a little less hectic.
1. Have a dedicated place for stowing backpacks, shoes, jackets, sports equipment, school papers and supplies. Your children will know where everything goes when they get home and where to find it in the morning. Use baskets or vertical organizers for each child to place homework or paperwork that needs to be signed.
2. Do everything you can the night before. Make lunches, sign paperwork, prepare backpacks, get everyone’s clothes ready, and select the morning meal. Get a head start on breakfast by setting out dishes and non-perishables such as syrup, cereal, sugar and nuts for oatmeal.
3. Welcome the day with “me-time” before everyone gets up. Read the news, exercise or plan your day in peace. Wake up the kids earlier so they can have personal time, too. You’ll feel less rushed and start your day on a positive note.
4. Lay out clothes and matching accessories before bedtime. Want to get a jump on the week? Select the entire week’s outfits on Sunday. Check the weather daily for appropriate outerwear.

A good closet design creates a space that is balanced both functionally and aesthetically, while factoring in the client’s unique tastes and preferences. Most people have similar issues with closets, hard to access, easily cluttered and lack organization. There are a lot of little considerations that go into pulling these details together that you learn while designing and building hundreds of closets. How many shoes, belts, hats, dresses, and purses need to be provided for. Think about the space for mirrors, ironing boards, jewelry trays that affect each person’s daily routine.

You can’t just throw up a hanging rod and expect the homeowner to “deal with it”. Builders today know that and look to experienced designers to create a space that adds value to the home and performs well for the homeowner. It’s like many things in this world whether it’s plumbing, electrical or closet design…you get what you pay for. A good closet designer like a good plumber is worth their weight in gold. If done right, with the right parts and experience it will last forever and make your life better. And therefore it won’t cause you stress and problems again a few years down the road.
